Israel lifted the closure on the Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip, a day after declaring them a closed military zone. The closure enabled police commandos to evict 150 Jewish militants from a hotel. Most of the militants had come from settlements in Judea and Samaria to resist the pullout from Gaza which is less than two months away. They had clashed with soldiers and Palestinians this week, but now that they're gone, life in Gaza is back to normal. Many settlers in Gaza said they were glad to see the radicals go because they were giving the local residents a bad name.
