Some settlers give up the fight

Sunday, July 03, 2005 |
At least eight settler families have moved out of their communities in recent days, effectively giving up the fight. Two families left their homes in two Gaza settlements, and five moved out of the isolated community of Ganim in northern Samaria that is slated for evacuation. Officials at Ganim say all but seven of the 30 families plan to move out before the withdrawal begins. The departure of families is a blow to the settler resistance, but activists vow that tens of thousands of non-residents will arrive in Gaza to protest the pullout.
