More than 40,000 soldiers and some 4,000 police have been assigned to implement the pullout from the Gaza Strip which is just six weeks away. The plan was announced at a meeting of senior officials responsible for the withdrawal. The large number of troops is necessary because the duration of the pullout has been shortened from 12 weeks to four.
