Israel angry over Blair comment on London bombings

Sunday, July 10, 2005 |
Israel has rejected British Prime Minister Tony Blair's contention that one of the root causes of the London bombings was the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. "The terrorists operating in London last week were doing it as part of a comprehensive terrorist war against the Western civilization similar to what they've done in America, similar to what they've done in Spain," said Vice Premier Ehud Olmert. Britain has long tried to separate the terror against Israel from the terror against everyone else, but Israel believes both are part of the global jihad. (We’ll have an in-depth report on the London bombings and the global jihad in next month’s edition of “israel today” magazine.)
