Foreign Press balks signing IDF Form

Friday, July 15, 2005 |
The Foreign Press Association urges its members not to sign IDF forms which are required before journalists could enter the Gaza Strip. It is seen as an attack on journalistic freedom and against the free movement of its members. The form requires the journalists to behave according the IDF-rules and leave the Gaza Strip before 14. August, before the beginning of the evacuation of the jewish settlers from the Gush Katif settlements. The FPA seeks a meeting with the government and the IDF to reach an agreement for dropping the forms or changing their wording.
