Sunday, July 17, 2005 |

Sheik Raed Salah was released from jail Sunday afternoon, a day earlier than his scheduled date. Salah, who headed the northern faction of the fundamentalist Islamic Movement, was arrested in May of 2003 for channeling millions of shekels to Hamas, terrorists, and families of suicide bombers. Hundreds of Salah supporters gathered in Umm el-Fahm to celebrate his release.
