Israel’s Einav Mucharer and Victoria Gonzales, both 25, swept the Maccabiah women’s beach volleyball competition Friday evening at Sironit Beach in Netanya. While in these “Olympics” all the athletes are Jewish, Mucharer and Gonzales’ ultimate goal is to compete at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Their Maccabiah triumph is only the beginning of future Israeli volleyball victories.
