Standoff continues in Kfar Maimon

Wednesday, July 20, 2005 |

After their second night of camping out at Moshav Kfar Maimon, settlers participating in the protest march to the Gush Katif Settlement Bloc in the Gaza Strip are not giving up. With 20,000 police and soldiers deployed in the area to prevent the march from proceeding, the marchers are still in high spirits. While the police have vowed not to allow the marchers to continue to the Kissufim Crossing near the entrance to Gush Katif, former Yesha Council (Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip) leader Pinhas Wallerstein believes they’ll be on their way to their destination this evening.
