Palestinians create competitions for Israeli farmers

Saturday, July 30, 2005 |

If the government’s withdrawal plan from Gaza succeeds, not only will the Jews of Gush Katif be uprooted from their homes, they will also leave behind the greenhouses they have built. The Israeli government has decided to use the greenhouses to provide jobs for Palestinians, while promising to compensate Israeli farmers. But Gush Katif farmers believe this will create an unfair advantage that will harm Israeli flower businesses.
