Former smoker running marathons

Wednesday, August 03, 2005 |

After quitting smoking, Jerry Goodman, 51, continues running in marathons and half-marathons around the country. Goodman, an American-born Israeli from Jerusalem, used to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day until he ended up in the hospital from what he thought was a heart attack. After this incident, Goodman sought to improve his health and become physically fit. He even ran in last month’s Maccabiah Games’ half-marathon. Goodman is proof that you’re never too old to turn your life around and accomplish some worthwhile goals.
