More than 45,000 anti-pullout protestors set out for Gush Katif late last evening, but after being blocked by soldiers and police, spent the night at the Peduyim Crossing on the outskirts of Ofakim. Smaller groups cut through fields and back roads to enter the “closed military zone” in an effort to fortify residents of the Jewish communities there. Two hundred university students and several professors made it to the northern Gaza community of Nissanit, but 150 of them were rounded up and arrested early this morning. Two sustained injuries and were hospitalized. Yesha leaders instructed marchers to return to Ofakim, where they’d continue the rally.
