Israeli scientists are using medicinal mushrooms to develop an anti-cancer drug for a rare form of leukemia called chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Dr. Jamal Mahajna initiated the study in conjunction with Professor Solomon Wasser of the University of Haifa, who will present a paper in October on “The Importance of Medicinal Mushrooms from Ancient Times to the Present” at the International Medicinal Mushroom Conference in Port Townsend, Washington. The CML research is being conducted at MyCure Ltd., which houses incubators for life science research.
