Soldier injured, 50 arrested in clashes

After police dismantled the gates to Neve Dekalim to allow security personnel and shipping containers inside, the confrontation escalated. At least 50 residents of Neve Dekalim were arrested as they burned tires and trash containers trying to block soldiers and police from entering their community. One policeman was injured when someone through an unknown substance in his eyes. Earlier today, Yesha (Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza) leaders were arrested as they attempted to cross through the Kissufim crossing into Gush Katif and were later released. Settlers constantly cry out to the soldiers, “we are brothers” to remind them they are all Israelis and not each other’s enemies.
