Women set tires on fire along the road to Neveh Dekalim, the first settlement slated for evacuation, and youth set trash bins on fire. Mothers handed their children’s toys to evacuating forces as souvenirs. The 300 families remaining in this settlement, along with 3,000 protesters, barricaded themselves inside their community synagogue and awaited evacuating forces. Police have begun arresting those who physically resisted evacuation. Most are leaving, but occasionally police are taking people and placing them on the buses. Residents say they will be completely out by this afternoon.
