HCJ petitions for rebuilding Gaza synagogues

The High Court of Justice pleaded with the government to find out if a few of the Gaza Strip’s 26 synagogues could be dismantled and rebuilt in other parts of Israel. Settlers hope that at least some will be saved from destruction, but this requires a government decision. One attorney commented that historically, governments worldwide have tried to protect religious structures, and Israel must do the same since destroying synagogues “injures” Judaism.
