Grassroots effort to help Gush Katif expellees

Sunday, August 21, 2005 |

A grassroots organization calling itself ‘For our Brothers’ has been formed to help the families of Gush Katif who are now homeless. Though the government claimed to have prepared a solution for “every evacuee,” the facts on the ground fall far short of their public relations campaign. Temporarily housed for 10 days in hotels, dormitories, and other places, residents face a myriad of practical, everyday needs for which no preparation has been made. Volunteers are trying to meet with evacuees to keep their spirits up and help them with activities for the children, laundry, etc.
