Wedding in tent city

Thursday, August 25, 2005 |
Joy abounded among residents and guests at the wedding of Rivka Netanel, daughter of Rabbi Reuven Natanel, and her beloved groom, Betzalel Weinstein. The wedding took place in the ‘City of Faith,’ the tent city established by 40 families evacuated from Atzmona in Gush Katif. Inside the huge tent near Netivot in the Negev, hundreds of guests from around the country came to celebrate. Among the guests was Brigadier General Aviv Kohavi, commander of the IDF Gaza Division, who was warmly received. Tables laden with food and joyful music were a fitting anecdote to last week’s expulsion of Gaza’s thriving Jewish communities.
