Square in Jenin named for the 'Engineer'

Sunday, August 28, 2005 |

Palestinians in the PA city of Jenin honored Hamas' chief bomb-maker Yahya Ayyash, nicknamed the 'Engineer,' by naming a main city square after him. Ayyash is considered the brains behind the concept of suicide bombings against Israel. Jenin residents hung posters of Ayyash and slain Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist leaders Ahmed Yassin and Fathi Shikaki around the city in preparation for mass celebrations marking Israel's evacuation of four Jewish communities in northern Samaria.
