Following yesterday's announcement to run for leadership of the Likud and as the party's candidate for prime minister, MK Benjamin (Bibi) Netanyahu toured the disputed E1 area between Ma'ale Adumim and Jerusalem. Accompanied by Knesset Speaker MK Reuven Rivlin (Likud), Netanyahu told reporters that Israel should not succumb to US pressure not to develop this area. "So [the Americans] object, so what? It's Jerusalem," he said. "There can be no limitation on building in our eternal capital." Netanyahu told reporters that a neighborhood of 5,000 homes would determine who controls this area adjacent to Israel's capital. "The time has come to build here, and I will build here," he said.
