State indicts Wiesgan

Wednesday, August 31, 2005 |
Asher Wiesgan, from Shvut Rachel near Shiloh, has been indicted for the murder of four Palestinian workers in Shiloh last month. After driving them to work, Wiesgan opened fired, killing two men inside the car and then turning the rifle on workers in the area, killing one man and wounding two others, one of whom died of his wounds. The incident occurred just two weeks after another Israeli, Natan Zada, opened fire on an Egged bus in the Israeli Arab city of Shfaram, killing four Arab passengers. Zada was bludgeoned to death by an angry mob after being handcuffed by police. Both men thought their actions would disrupt the government's withdrawal from Gaza and northern Samaria.
