South African educators have taken a pro-active approach to studying the Holocaust, especially in high school curriculums. The 11th grade history classes include a study of Nazi ideology and its relationship to and influence on apartheid. In 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, students study the moral and ethical implications on the generations following the Holocaust. The Cape Town Holocaust Center recently sponsored a four-day seminar for teachers, which was coordinated with the country's national education system.
