A protest against unemployment in the Gaza town of Khan Unis turned violent, with demonstrators throwing stones and firebombs, and Palestinian police firing wildly in the air. Palestinian officials said seven policemen and three civilians were injured. It's a sign that Gaza could plunge into chaos, when Israel completes its withdrawal from the territory later this month. The Palestinian Authority and the Islamic terrorist group Hamas are vying for power, and the poverty stricken population of 1.3 million is restless. Many Palestinians who worked in the Jewish state lost their jobs when Israel closed its borders following the eruption of the terror war in September 2000.
