Israel Sends More Hurricane Aid to the U.S.

Monday, September 05, 2005 |

Israel is sending a search and rescue team and emergency supplies to victims of Hurricane Katrina on the US Gulf coast. The supplies include military rations, tents, generators, baby formula, diapers and bedding. "Even if it will be modest aid, even if it will be symbolic aid, it is still very important," Israel's ambassador to the US, Danny Ayalon, told Army Radio. He said Israel is beefing up staff at its embassy in Washington to assist in the distribution of aid.
