Hurricane Katrina nixes expected US aid to Israel

Israel has set aside plans to ask the US for $2 billion to help cover the costs of its withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. With America spending tens of billions of dollars on hurricane relief, a high-level Israeli delegation that planned to discuss the aid package has postponed a trip to Washington. It's a blow to Israel which had expected a positive response. Now Israel may have to finance the pullout with money it doesn't have.
