Israeli offensive continues

Thursday, September 29, 2005 |

Israeli troops killed three Islamic terrorists in raids in Samaria, as the offensive aimed at halting Palestinian rocket attacks entered its sixth day. There were no air strikes in Gaza for the first time since the campaign began, but Israeli forces entered the town of Jenin and a nearby village in search of wanted men. Two members of the Islamic Jihad and a local leader of the Al Aksa Martyrs’ Brigades were killed. In response, the leader of the Al Aksa Brigade in Jenin, Zakaria Zubeidi, announced that the seven-month-old truce is over. "The Israelis have not upheld their part of the cease-fire agreement," he said. "We will fight back hard and there will be no limits to our responses from now on."
