Two terrorists killed in raid

Friday, September 30, 2005 |

Two Palestinian gunmen were killed and a third critically wounded, when Israeli forces stormed into the town of Nablus (Biblical Shechem). It was the latest raid in a weeklong offensive against Palestinian terrorists. Gunmen from the Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades, the armed wing of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement, were the target of the operation. The group promised revenge, saying the seven-month-old Mideast cease-fire is over. But Israel seems to be winding down the offensive, after Palestinian rocket attacks from Gaza have stopped. There were no Israeli air strikes on Gaza for the second straight day.
