Sharon optimistic

In a Rosh Hashanah interview, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said he is optimistic about the peace process. "I hope that in the coming year there will be great progress in the diplomatic process and we will implement the course that was laid out in the ‘roadmap,’" Sharon told Israel’s biggest newspaper “Yediot Ahronot.” The internationally-backed roadmap peace plan calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state. But Sharon has repeatedly said that there can be no progress until the Palestinians fulfill their first roadmap commitment--to dismantle terrorist groups.
