Mideast summit on tap next week.

A summit between Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas is tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday. The aim is to get the peace process back on track following Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. However, Palestinian officials say the summit will only take place if progress is made in preparatory meetings. Key issues include Israeli withdrawals from towns in Judea and Samaria and the release of Palestinian prisoners. Israel is linking any concessions to the Palestinian Authority taking action against terrorist groups.
