The battered Israeli tourism industry is getting a boost during the Jewish High Holiday season. The eight-month-old Mideast cease-fire has improved the atmosphere, and hotels are packed. But Jerusalem hotel manager Itzik Evron says all it takes is one big terrorist attack to change that. “You know tourism is very, very fragile,” Evron told Israel Radio. “If something happens...everything will go down hill.” But with 1,300,000 visitors so far this year, tourism is up by 26 percent over the same period last year.
