Afghanistan: Ties with Israel coming soon

The Pakistani newspaper Daily Times reported yesterday that Afghanistan has decided to formally establish relations with Israel. The administration of Afghani President Hamid Karzai has decided to serve as a trailblazer for the Muslim world, quoted Afghani diplomatic sources. “The official announcement of the recognition will be made in the next few days.” The Afghan government’s vital decision will pave the way for other Muslim countries such as Pakistan to follow suit. Israeli diplomatic sources said the withdrawal from the Gaza Strip opened a window of opportunity for the establishment of such ties.
