Afghanistan retreats from ties with Israel

Yesterday the Afghan President doused the hopes that his country would recognize Israel anytime soon. Hamid Karzai said that this would only happen, after the establishment of a “free and independent “ Palestinian State. Israeli diplomatic officials responded that patience is needed and it is possible that Karzai had come on pressure from various directions which led to his change of mind.
