Bad economic situation in Bethlehem

Since Bethlehem has come completely under the control of the Palestinian Authority, and, in addition, the birthplace of Jesus has already become 65% Moslem, the economic situation there has worsened. The Roman Catholic mayor, Victor Bartaseh, complains that Bethlehem gets almost no help from Christians around the world, and that the tourism from Israel has almost completely dried up.
