Two Israeli Arab dentists arrested on terrorism charges

Monday, October 24, 2005 |

Two Israeli Arab dentists from the Nazareth area in Galilee have been charged with helping Hamas plan suicide bombings in Israel. Security officials say they both studied dentistry in Romania, where they were recruited to Hamas, and learned espionage in Turkey. A small but growing number of Israeli Arabs have been involved in terrorism since the Palestinian uprising erupted 5 years ago. As Israeli citizens, they have freedom of movement in Israel, which makes them valuable to Palestinian terror groups.
