Hamas threatens to end cease-fire with Israel

Wednesday, October 26, 2005 |

The Islamic terrorist group Hamas says it has gained nothing from the cease-fire with Israel, and it might end the truce after Palestinian elections in January. Hamas leader Mahmoud al Zahar told the Israeli newspaper “Ha’aretz” that Israel has failed to free thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, and Hamas might kidnap Israeli soldiers to win their release. "It [Israel] is holding 9,000 prisoners,” al Zahar said. “If they are not released, kidnappings will increase." He said the organization still seeks the destruction of Israel.
