Islamic Jihad agrees to halt rocket attacks

Monday, October 31, 2005 |

Islamic Jihad terrorists in the Gaza Strip have agreed to halt rocket attacks on Israel, on condition that Israel ends a wave of air strikes. Israeli aircraft pounded Gaza for four days, after Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing last week that killed five Israelis in the northern town of Hadera. Israel is prepared to end air strikes in Gaza, but officials say operations against Islamic Jihad will continue in Judea and Samaria to cripple the group's capabilities.
