EU to train Palestinian police

The European Union has decided to launch a three-year program to train Palestinian police. EU foreign ministers meeting in Brussels issued a statement saying 50 law enforcement experts would advise the Palestinians on how to staff, manage and finance their forces. "The mission will support the Palestinian Authority in establishing sustainable and effective police arrangements," the statement said. For Israel, it brings back bitter memories. The CIA trained the Palestinian police force in the 1990s and that expertise was later used in the terror war against Israel.
