The leader of Hamas says the Islamic terrorist group might consider holding negotiations with Israel. That would mark a major change for the group which seeks the destruction of the Jewish state. "Negotiations is not our intention, negotiation is a method,” Hamas terror chief Mahmoud al-Zahar said in a rare interview on Israel Radio. “If the method is noble—t to liberate our land, to liberate our people from the Israeli deals, to reconstruct what is destroyed by the Israeli long-standing occupation—at that time we can discuss." Israeli officials described the comment as a ploy to win broader support in upcoming Palestinian parliamentary elections in January.
