Al Qaida vows to hit Israel soon

After three deadly suicide attacks claimed 57 lives in Amman, Jordan last week, al Qaida threatened that, “It will not be long before raids by the mujahedeen (Arabic for holy warriors) come to the Jewish state itself.” The new claim, signed by the group’s spokesman Abu Maysara al-Iraqi, said now that Jordan, Israel's “buffer zone,” has been hit, Israel was “within range.” The death toll in Amman has risen to 57, including an Arab Israeli.
