Hamas slams Tunisia for hosting Shalom

Thursday, November 17, 2005 |

Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist organization, condemned Tunis for hosting Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom. The organization published a statement saying that hosting “the terrorist Shalom” is a “stab in the back of the Palestinian nation.” Shalom, speaking at the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society in Tunisia, said that international community must also unite against global terrorism in general, and specifically against Hamas’ internet sites. This is the first visit by an Israeli official to Tunisia. Shalom met with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (photo). He called on him to decide on whether he was part of the enlightened world fighting extremism, or whether he is part of those who surrender to terrorism.
