Labor Party votes to quit coalition

Ministers of the Labor Party are expected to resign from PM Ariel Sharon’s national unity government today, after the Labor central committee under new chairman Amir Peretz voted on Sunday night to quit the coalition. Former Labor chairman Shimon Peres was absent at this meeting. He is still contemplating his political future but has no plans to join any other party.
