A lawsuit filed in US District Court blames a July 2002 bombing that killed 15 people in Gaza City on Israel's former director of General Security Service Avraham Dichter. The lawsuit seeks class action status for survivors of what it calls a “targeted assassination” in which the Israeli Air Force dropped a bomb on an apartment building, killing a top Hamas operative wanted for masterminding suicide bombings against Israel. Eight of the 15 killed were children, the lawsuit said. Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev said, “We see this as a cynical manipulation of the courts by groups with extremist agendas.”
