Former Iranian leader: Zionists’ days numbered

Just days after the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Israel should be wiped off the map, the former Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani (left) said Iran would continue with its fundamental policy of supporting the “oppressed” Palestinian people. He said that resistance is the only option left for the Palestinians in order to restore their rights. In a meeting with senior Hamas member Khaled Mashal in Tehran, Rafsanjani said the political standstill facing the ‘Zionist’ regime and its withdrawal from some of the territories as reasons for its backward movement. Both remarks underscore the regime’s fundamental hatred for the Jewish state.
