Israeli dairies expand overseas

Gad, the fourth largest dairy company in Israel is expanding its borders and opening a production facility in New Jersey, a $ 4million investment. The US branch would produce 20 different types of cheeses, less than what is produced in Israel. Gad specializes in labaneh (similar to sour cream), Bulgarian cheese (similar to feta), mozzarella and ricotta cheese. The popular Tnuva, another Israeli dairy company, will be opening a production facility in Romania within the next year. Tnuva hopes to earn 65 million Euros ($) after seven years. The company has 1,200 cows as a basis for development of local milk sources and they offer a wide range of products.
