Army kills Gaza terrorist

Sunday, December 18, 2005 |
Israelis soldiers shot a terrorist trying to cross the Gaza security fence to place a bomb in the area. Three Palestinian groups claimed responsibility for the incident and said it was an attempted attack. A statement issued by the Salah al-Din Brigades, the al-Aqsa Brigades, and the Islamic Jihad’s military wing said the Palestinian was killed during an attempt to attack an Israeli outpost. Another terrorist was killed after his car exploded, but the army denied involvement in the blast. Khaled Abu-Sita, a senior member of the Abu al-Rish Brigades, an armed group with links to Fatah, was killed when his car exploded in south Gaza. Defense officials said following the attack that the vehicle was loaded with explosives and that the four passengers killed were on their way to carry out a large-scale terror attack at the Karni crossing.
