At least three killed, several wounded in suicide bombing

A suicide bomber who blew himself up at an Israeli roadblock on Thursday, killing an Israeli soldier and at least two Palestinians, intended to pull off a larger attack in Israel. The checkpoint – a temporary one – was set up near Tulkarm, east of the coastal town of Netanya, in response to intelligence information about a planned suicide attack. The army believes that the bomber intended to detonate himself within Israeli lines. The last suicide bombing was on Dec. 5, when an attack at a shopping mall in Netanya killed five Israelis and wounded dozens more.
