Likud ministers plan to resign from cabinet on Sunday

Tuesday, January 03, 2006 |
Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu said the four remaining Likud cabinet ministers will resign from the government on Sunday. Netanyahu resigned as head of the treasury in protest of the Gaza pullout last summer. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will appoint five or six Knesset members from his party, Kadima, to fill some of the positions that will be available after the departure of the Likud ministers. Aides to some of the Likud ministers said some of their bosses did not want to resign, but that now Netanyahu would have to take responsibility for the move.
