Palestinians fired 10 rockets at the western Negev after the Israeli air force fired a missile at a car in Gaza, killing three Palestinians affiliated with the terrorist group Islamic Jihad. The rockets fell in open areas and caused no damage. Israeli security officials identified one of the dead as Said Abu Jidian, a senior Islamic Jihad commander, and Akram Gadas, both believed to have been involved in rocket launchings. The Israeli strike took place near the “no-go zone,” the 16 km. northern Gaza border area which Israel has declared off limits to Palestinians in an effort to quell the constant barrage of rocket fire. It has yet to be effective.
