Likud ministers refuse Netanyahu’s orders

Thursday, January 12, 2006 |
Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu called on the four remaining Likud ministers to quit the current government. Education Minister Limor Livnat, Dani Naveh and Yisrael Katz said they will hand in their resignations on Sunday, rather than Thursday as Netanyahu demanded, but Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said he would not resign. According to an Army Radio report a close associate of a Likud minister said, “Netanyahu has gone crazy. He’s returned to methods of intrigue and scheming that characterized him in the past.” Netanyahu used Kadima’s recent moves as justification to assume the role of opposition leader. “We always said Bibi reacted with hysteria and this is further proof,” a close source to Sharon said.
