Ties with Pat Robertson may resume

Monday, January 16, 2006 |
After evangelical leader Pat Robertson apologized for his statement suggesting that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s stroke was punishment from God for withdrawing from Gaza, Israel is reconsidering canceling a potential $50 million contract with the TV broadcaster. Robertson made a public television apology and sent a letter to Omri Sharon expressing regret and asking for forgiveness for his remarks. The Galilee Christian Heritage Center project is scheduled for completion by 2011 and is expected to bring an additional 750,000 visitors to Israel.
