Due to the mounting violence between Israeli soldiers and Jewish settlers, the army has declared Hebron’s Jewish quarter a closed district. Two minors were arrested on suspicion of throwing stones and eggs at the police after the area was closed off early Tuesday morning. A total of 18 people have been arrested, 15 of them minors. The council of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria has advised the Jewish settlers to expel the protesters and has condemned the violence carried out by the youth. Demonstrators are protesting the Israeli government’s evacuation of an illegal settlement.
